Product & Ad DesignThe Onion
Fake products and parody ad campaigns are a staple of The Onion’s cultural commentary. These assignments required research into branding and design styles typical to the referenced industry. Successful parodies involved collecting visual references, hunting down brand colors and fonts, and executing designs without any markings of personal style. Creating a believable visual experience for the reader was integral to the success of both the graphic and article.
